AIRism Face Mask is Uniqlo’s Answer to Combat COVID-19

Since the beauty and fashion worlds are now accepting the current COVID-19 pandemic, many designers and brands are coming up with stylish face mask options. Recently, Japanese fashion retailer Uniqlo has come up with its answer to combating the coronavirus through AIRism face mask.

Initially, the Japanese fashion purveyor was reluctant to make personal protective equipment. But the rising customer requests for the masks pushed them to create this lightweight and reusable face mask.

According to Highsnobiety, AIRism Mask is intended for both comfort and performance, featuring a three-layer structure equipped with a high-performance filter that has approximately 99% Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE). This makes it highly effective to block the minute bacterial particles, virus particles, pollen, and water droplets.

Internally, this mask includes a non-woven cotton fabric to remove sweat. It means that the interior will remain dry and cool during wear. The outer layer, on the other hand, is made from a mesh material to block out around 90-percent of harsh ultraviolet light rays.

After use, you can gently wash and reuse the mask up to 20 washes. The AIRism face masks are designed to be the part of Uniqlo’s “LifeWear” line, which is known for the range of breathable summer clothing.

Currently, the Uniqlo AIRism face masks can be purchased online through the company’s Japan website and brand’s in-store locations across Japan. The mask is available in three sizes: small (for children), medium and large in only white color. A pack of three costs ¥990 JPY (US $9), limited to one pack of each size per person.

Furthermore, the company aims to produce over 500,000 packages every week in China. They will even provide AIRism Masks for sales overseas shortly.
