DIY Lasso Shoes can be assembled in a jiffy with laces
These slippers that can be constructed by the user themselves give us a new interesting way of creating footwear. Idea and the final product designed is from French design graduate Gaspard Tine-Beres (Royal College of Art, London) who gives us as the users new way of putting together felt shoes in a jiffy using just shoelaces. Called as the Lasso Shoes, they are made from single piece of natural wool die cut from 5 mm sheets and as a buyer you’ll get them flat-packed after which you can assemble them with laces supplied in color of choice.
The main inspiration behind designing such a shoe was to create an emotional bond and increase the sense of ownership among the buyers for their footwear, thereby allowing for personalization. The shoes are currently on display at the Show RCA until 1st July and if you want to purchase these Lasso Shoes in any of the ten standard sizes then you’ll have to wait till September.
